WIRE Magazine Byron Coley Ponderosa Stomp Review

Just had a photo published in the UK's WIRE magazine in the July issue. Lead photo in the 'On Location' section with Roy A. Loney and Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies backed by Brooklyn's own A-Bones. Review penned by the mighty Byron Coley, who wrote for the legendary Forced Exposure zine in the 80's and early 90's and has been busy ever since.

SXSW Photos Featured in Rolling Stone

Toot toot! (that's my (own) horn) Photos of Deer Tick and the Strange Boys, both bands I enjoyed a great deal at SXSW, were published in the current issue of Rolling Stone. Both bands were featured as Top 5 breakout bands from the conference and Deer Tick led the article. Which says as much about my excellent taste as my mad kamera skilz. Toot Toot!

In the News: Songlines UK and Smoke Music Archive

The Brooklyn Qawwali Party were featured in the respectable world music magazine Songlines (10th Anniversary Issue) with a little photo help from yours truly. Goes to show you that having professional, current photos of your band can really boost your chances of media coverage. Have you hugged a photographer today?

Also, Smoke Music Archive, a new well written and well curated online music 'magazine' featured a photo of R Stevie Moore along with an exclusive new release. SMA post here

A couple interesting things about Smoke Music Archive that separates it from the field: the guys behind it are creative industry veterans and they are also using the platform of the site to produce and release new music with selected artists.

Ralph Jackson in Time Out New York

The photo helped my friends Rabbit Factory with a bit of exposure for this Sunday's JellyNYC Pool Party featuring Ralph 'Soul' Jackson, Roscoe Robinson, Hermon Hitson, Herbert Wiley and the Checkmates and Ronnie Spector.

The show is Sunday at 2PM at the McCarren Park Pool in Williamsburg

The Wall Street Journal did a nice profile on Dr. Ike and the Ponderosa Stomp in last week's Weekend Advisor section featuring a portrait I shot of him at his house.

I've been in New Orleans this week with the Ponderosa Stomp for the third year in a row. A photo of Ronnie Spector (who was awesome) was featured in a very positive review in the LA Times
